Several months ago I posted about Teal Toes, when a close friend’s mother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. I told you how Ovarian Cancer was known as the silent killer and how Teal Toes wanted to raise awareness to let people know the signs and symptoms.
What I haven’t told you yet, is that shortly after I wrote that post my aunt contacted me and told me that ovarian cancer is what took my own grandmother’s life when I was 5 years old. I NEVER thought that raising awareness would mean that I had a family history.
This week, my friend who received her diagnosis in January passed away. It is heartbreaking and way too soon, and I wanted to remind all of you again, about Teal Toes. If you know this family and you want to “do something,” paint your toenails teal, where sandals and tell anyone who glances at them why they are teal. Take a picture and post it on Facebook, send me a picture and I’ll post it here.
