Someone ELSE’S Potty Tricks!

Well, WHAT a controversy. I have apparently upset a reader because I am not properly potty training and/or disciplining my children. If you know me at all, you MUST know that I am laughing at this as well. The whole point of my blog is to let other mothers know that we ALL make mistakes, none of us are perfect and it is OK! If I couldn’t laugh with y’all about all this, I would LOSE MY MIND!

That said, my long lost friend Debbie from Texas just sent me a potty story to top them all!
Here it is in her words:
“One of the ladies I work with told me the funniest story about her friend’s son who she had been trying to potty train forever. He never wanted to poop in the potty. One day she gets distracted in Sears and her son wandered away a little bit. When she discovered he wasn’t right beside her, she went looking for him. He was in the bathroom display POOPING in the non-functioning display toilet!!! LOL!! There was no way she could discipline him because she had been trying to get him to poop in the toilet and she was so embarrassed that she just left it!LOL!!! Could you just imagine the employee that found that???!!”

Out of the clear blue sky this morning, Aubrey offered some words of wisdom about the differences between Mommies and Daddies.
Aubrey: “Mommies understand, Daddies don’t understand.”
Me: “What do Mommies understand?”
Aubrey: “Mommies understand talking to little girl children but Daddies don’t know how to listen…”
She is FOUR. That’s all I’m saying.

Recipes: Squash Casserole

I told my sister I would send her this recipe…might as well share it with the rest of the world. This is my favorite squash casserole in the EN-TIRE world. I made about 20 different recipes until I finally came up with this one. I really did figure it out my-own-self, but if it’s just like your Aunt LuLu’s (pron. Ain’t) don’t get your panties in a wad, just leave a comment or send me an email and we’ll give her credit for it. I was trying to replicate Veggies-To-Go in Auburn, and I think I got pretty darn close.

5-6 medium yellow squash, sliced
1/2 onion, diced
1 cubanelle or banana pepper, diced
salt and pepper to taste
1 egg
1/3c milk
1c cheddar cheese, grated and divided

Steam or boil the squash until tender. Let cool and drain excess water. In a large mixing bowl add squash, diced raw onion and pepper, salt and pepper, egg, lightly beaten,milk and 1/2c cheese. Mix well. Pour in greased 9×9 casserole dish, top with remaining cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Uncover and cook until cheese browns.

I am an Internet Idiot. I have somehow managed to create a blog/website, whilst caring for my husband and children. But I am TOTALLY clueless when it comes to technology.
When I purchased the domain name for robinschicks, I was given an email address, robin@robinschicks.com.
I have NO idea where said email address is. I have emailed myself, just to see what would happen. I haven’t responded to myself yet because I don’t know where I am! I even asked myself in the email, “Where you at Boo?” But alas, still no response. I’m starting to feel sorry for sad-little-lost-cyber-me. I need help finding myself.

Happy Easter!

I got the girls a few little treats to celebrate Easter. One of their prizes was a plastic chicken that can be filled with egg shaped bubble gum. You wind it up and the chicken waddles around and “lays” eggs.

The girls were sitting at the kitchen table playing (they have pjs but would rather wear The Shirt Off My Back) while The Best Husband in the EN-TIRE world made breakfast. They were making their chickens “talk” to one another and Aubrey’s(4) chicken said, “Hey, I got all my children up my butt!”

Oh, but haven’t we all felt that way before?!

Today isn’t about plastic chickens or chocolate bunnies, it’s about the greatest miracle this world has ever seen. The resurrection of Jesus Christ! Happy Easter!
