Aubrey Said: Don Knotts

This weekend while I was out of town The Hubs rented some old school family movies, Pollyanna and The Apple Dumpling Gang, to watch with the big girls. Thirty minutes into The Apple Dumpling Gang and one of Don Knotts’ scenes Aubrey looked at her Daddy with raised eyebrows and said, “Uh…he’s a little off.”

Zeb laughed hysterically and Aubrey asked, “Do you know what that means?”

Here is a fab-a-lous Mommy Tip from my veddy good friend Lori:

I wanted to let you know of a concoction that Brantley (her husband is a pharmacist) came up with to help Luke’s severe diaper rash. He has double ear infections (again) and is on a strong dose of Augmentin.
His diaper rash was so bad that he couldn’t sit down and it hurt him to walk. So pitiful it made ME cry too.
Brantley did a little research and decided to compound one container of Triple Paste (which contains bees wax, zinc and lanolin) with half a bottle of extra strength cherry Maalox (to neutralize the acid in the poo). He was a little afraid that the mint would burn, but not sure about that. Since he is no longer working in a traditional pharmacy, he came home and mixed it up in the good ol’ Kitchen Aid mixer.
We put it on Luke that night and set the alarm clock for the middle of the night for another application. By morning it was MUCH improved and he is no longer crying in anticipation of a diaper change. It makes a thin enough paste that you can apply it without much rubbing. HUGE difference in a very short time.

Hidey Ho Peeps!
Just wanted to say hi, and let you know I haven’t forgotten about all of you! Baby Sadie and I came to Alabama for a long weekend with Shuggie, Aunt B and Baby Tucker. I have been enjoying Starbucks, Target, sushi and no one talking back to me (I’m not counting my sister because I didn’t have to send her to time out.) Aubrey and Emma have been in Mississippi with their Daddy this weekend, who I am sure is going to be very glad to see me tomorrow! I’m going to be posting some of his stories from the weekend for you. I hope you had a snowy and safe weekend.
