Several months ago I posted about Teal Toes, when a close friend’s mother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. I told you how Ovarian Cancer was known as the silent killer and how Teal Toes wanted to raise awareness to let people know the signs and symptoms.
What I haven’t told you yet, is that shortly after I wrote that post my aunt contacted me and told me that ovarian cancer is what took my own grandmother’s life when I was 5 years old. I NEVER thought that raising awareness would mean that I had a family history.
This week, my friend who received her diagnosis in January passed away. It is heartbreaking and way too soon, and I wanted to remind all of you again, about Teal Toes. If you know this family and you want to “do something,” paint your toenails teal, where sandals and tell anyone who glances at them why they are teal. Take a picture and post it on Facebook, send me a picture and I’ll post it here.

So many lives touched by Ovarian cancer. I was diagnosed with Stage IIIc five years ago and still fighting.
I've just launched a new awareness project where we are hoping to get people touched by ovarian Cancer to upload their stories. If you felt up to it, it would be wonderful if you could add your voice and help make this whisper a shout.
Best,

What a fantastic picture. My toes are almost always teal. My mom was diagnosed in 2009, and passed away in 2012. I’ve included on the URL above a picture of my own toes along with my son’s (Yes, he loves having his teal toes too).
I’m trying to come up with a video to promote my relay team for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life in my area. The video is going to be called called ‘Ten Teal Toes” and I’m looking for pictures of teal toes that I can use. Would you mind if I used the picture you have? So super cute!

Hi Christy! Sorry I’m slow in responding, you can definitely use the picture. When you credit it please note that our teal toes were in honor of Kay Wilson! xo
