Before naps today, I was reading to Emma a book about the alphabet. (Very cleverly titled “Alphabet”.) Each page featured a letter, a poem and a picture reinforcing that letter. As I read the poems, Emma would pick out all of the items on the page that started with the featured letter. We made it to the letter “E” which was covered with intricately decorated Easter eggs, elephants and encyclopedias (and yes, this particular poem sucked.) At any rate, Emma’s running commentary went just like this…
On the letter:
A “Momma! I see an apple!”
B “Momma, LOOK a bumble-bee!”
C ” I see a kitty cat!”
D ” I love that duck Momma!”
E “Momma, when dat goose goes poo-poo I’ne gonna get dat egg!”
