While I was scrubbing the entire house clean and preparing for a Fourth of July feast with our family, I put Aubrey, Emma and their BFF Tristan out in the garage with their easel, paint and paint brushes. They were in and out of the house as I cooked, and I continually checked on them to make sure they were behaving.
Emma started painting her hand a la preschool and making hand prints on her paper, which led to all manner of body parts being painted. I was fine with this, they would come inside and rinse off whenever they became too sticky.
Once the kids grew tired of painting, we filled up the baby pools for them to play in the front yard. I went to take a quick bathroom break and was greeted by THIS masterpiece:
Any guesses as to which body parts Aubrey painted? I knew it was her handy work because it was the same color she had created while painting outside. Thank God for washable paints. Aubrey was completely unimpressed that SHE was expected to clean this up BY HERSELF…but she did.

My four-year-old son has "painted" our bathroom wall with his muddy feet and hands! This so reminded me of him and when I walked into our bathroom and found his masterpiece.
